Is It Too Late for God to Forgive Me? What the Thief on the Cross ('Lord, Remember Me') Proves
If you feel like you have made too many mistakes, wasted too many years, or strayed too far for God to want you back, look at Luke 23:42. The thief on the cross had zero time left to fix his resume, take a theology class, or undo his past. All he had was an honest confession ('We receive the due reward of our deeds') and a four-word cry of faith: 'Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.' And Jesus didn't put him on probationβHe answered immediately: 'Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise' (Luke 23:43). As long as you have breath in your lungs, it is never too late to come home.
1. Why the Thief on the Cross Shatters Every Excuse of Shame
Notice the difference between the two men crucified beside Jesus. One demanded that Jesus prove Himself on his terms; the other humbled himself, feared God, owned his fault without blaming society, and trusted the King bleeding right next to him (Luke 23:40β42).
2. How to Pray 'Lord, Remember Me' Today
You don't need fancy religious language to come to God. Psalm 51:17 says, 'A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.' Speak to Him plainly right where you are.
