1. “Art Thou for Us, or for Our Adversaries?” — “Nay.” (Joshua 5:13–14)

Right outside the walls of Jericho, Joshua walked up to a Man standing with a drawn sword in His hand and asked a binary partisan question: “Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?” The Captain of the LORD’s host did not pick Joshua’s political faction. He answered: “Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come.” God does not join our political parties; He calls us to bow the knee to His Kingdom.

2. Operating on Earth While Belonging to the True Theocracy (John 18:36 & Philippians 3:20)

We operate on earth as responsible citizens, neighbors, and peacemakers (Jeremiah 29:7; 1 Timothy 2:1–2; Matthew 22:21). Yet our ultimate allegiance is not a left-wing or right-wing democracy—it is a divine Theocracy ruled by the One True King, Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 6:15). As Daniel 2:21 declares, God “changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings.” Whether your candidate won or lost, Jesus Christ is still on the throne, and we abide in the Lord’s will as He calls us.
