Dr. Apollos Sterling
“People do not get rattled because their conviction is wrong—they get rattled because they express it as an emotion instead of a formal implication (P → Q).”
Born in East Baltimore to a tool-and-die machinist father and a high-school mathematics teacher mother, Apollos Sterling enrolled in college thinking introductory Philosophy Logic would sharpen his mind—only to drop the class in frustration when he realized humanities professors taught logic as a blurry list of informal opinions. Two semesters later, he took Discrete Mathematics in the engineering department. Watching Boolean truth tables, Modus Ponens, Modus Tollens, and De Morgan's Laws click into place on the chalkboard changed his life forever. He realized that the prophets, Christ in Matthew 12, and the Apostle Paul argued with mathematical precision. After earning his doctorate in Philosophical Logic and spending a decade training trial attorneys and church leaders how to never let a hostile adversary flip (P → Q) into (Q → P), Dr. Sterling became the Lead Course Professor at HISOM University, where he teaches every 42-minute Main Blackboard Lecture across all 13 courses.
